New PI Meeting
The Round Table Chemistry, NextGenChem and KNCV are pleased to welcome all New Principal Investigators (PIs) to their yearly New PI Meeting. The meeting is organised for PIs who are at the start of their academic career or have recently arrived in the Netherlands. This year, we will discuss the different (advisory) organisations in the Chemistry landscape; Round Table Chemistry, Dutch Chemistry Council, KNCV, NextGenChem. Participants will learn about the roles of these organisations, the support they can offer, and opportunities to become involved. The programme has a strong emphasis on networking and community building among new PIs.
The New PI Meeting will take place on Monday 7 December between 16:00 and 17:00 at NH Koningshof in Veldhoven. Participation is free.
PI Meeting
The Round Table Chemistry is pleased to welcome all Principal Investigators (PIs) to its yearly PI Meeting. The PI meeting has both a social and a strategic character. There will be ample opportunity for informal interaction with other PIs in Chemistry and NWO, in response to feedback from previous edition. This year’s strategic topic is the increased application pressure. Most instruments at NWO see a yearly increase in the number of applications, while the budget do not grow. This means that for the same amount of funded projects, more proposals were written by PIs, accordingly processed by NWO and assessed by referees and committee members. This is an undesired situation that costs a lot of time and puts pressure on the funding system. Together, we will discuss what all parties involved can do to help reduce application pressure.
The PI Meeting will take place on Monday 7 December between 18:00 and 21:30 at NH Koningshof in Veldhoven. Registration is required and participation costs 30 euro.
