Dr. Ina Vollmer is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University. Her team focusses on chemical recycling of plastics using heterogeneous catalysis and mechano-catalysis at low temperatures. The patented catalytic ball milling technology for polyolefin recycling was recently spun out in the startup Repolyze. After a MSc. at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (graduation 2015), a PhD at Delft University of Technology (graduation 2019), and a Postdoc at Utrecht University, she was appointed Assistant Professor in 2021 and Associate Professor in 2026 at the same university. Among other grants, she received the Dutch Veni grant in 2021 and the ERC StG in 2024. Vollmer was also interviewed for public newspapers like Het Parool, Het Algemeen Dagblad en Het Financieel Dagblad.
