Jutta Rieger

CNRS Research Director at Sorbonne University

Keynote speaker

Originally from Germany, Jutta Rieger completed a joint PhD at the CERM in Liège (Belgium) and at the CERMAV in Grenoble (France), on functional ε-caprolactone-based polymeric architectures. After a postdoctoral contract on the surface functionalization of non-woven materials with ICMMO and Macopharma, she joined in 2007 the Polymer Chemistry Team of the Institut Parisien de Chimie Moléculaire (IPCM), Sorbonne University, and started working on RAFT polymerization in heterogeneous media. Since 2009 she is a CNRS Researcher in the same institution, and was promoted ‘CNRS Research Director’ in 2021. Her research focuses on the synthesis and supramolecular assembly of functional polymeric materials using homogeneous or heterogeneous controlled radical polymerization processes. She developed in particular the polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) technology. She has published more than 100 articles, 5 book chapters and 4 patents.
