Peptides are emerging as powerful therapeutic agents and essential tools in the design of novel biomaterials. As ligands peptides offer high specificity and efficacy, making them ideal for targeting a wide range of diseases, including cancer, infectious diseases, and metabolic disorders. Their ability to interact with biological systems in a highly controlled manner allows for the development of innovative treatments with fewer side effects compared to traditional drugs. Furthermore, their properties such as biocompatibility, biodegradability, and the ability to promote cell growth and tissue regeneration, make them suitable platforms for biomaterial design. Given recent digital advancements, combining the power of computational tools with novel experimental techniques in a smart way will transform the peptide development paradigm.
This session connects complementary disciplines to demonstrate the synergies between novel computational, analytical and experimental techniques in peptide development for diverse applications, with presentations covering diverse cutting-edge approaches to discovery of functional peptide-based molecules.
